Learn how to authenticate your Coca-Cola Labubu and spot a fake
PDF download Download Article

The Monsters Coca-Cola series is a cute crossover collection that appeals to fans of Coke and Labubu alike. There are two types of Coca-Cola Labubus: a line of PVC figures and a trio of keychain plushes. The plushes in particular are extremely popular, and they’re often sold out on the POP MART website. Buyers sometimes turn to third-party sellers to find them, but that comes with the risk of counterfeits and fakes. In this article, we’re explaining how to tell whether a Coca-Cola Labubu is real or fake, so keep reading!

How can you tell if a Coca-Cola Labubu is real?

  • Check the box to be sure it has the correct colors and branding.
  • Scan the QR code on the box to verify its authenticity.
  • Check for plastic packaging inside the box (not a bag).
  • Examine the sculpting, paint, and fur on the Labubu to ensure the quality.
  • Check the Coke bottle or can. The proportions and label should match the real thing.
  • Check the bottom of the figure for the POP MART ® Kasing logo.
  • Scan the QR code on the body tag.

Examining the Packaging

  1. Before you even open your Coca-Cola Labubu, check the packaging carefully. Compare it to pictures or videos online of real Coca-Cola Labubus to ensure it matches perfectly. Check that all of the labels are correct and that the side of the box shows the correct Labubus from the series. Here are a few details on real Coca-Cola Labubu boxes to look for to verify that yours is real:
    • The color of the box is brick/Coca-Cola red. Fake boxes are often darker, sometimes almost brown.
    • The box is bigger than most Labubu boxes. If the box is the same size as other series like Have a Seat or Big Into Energy, this could be a sign that it’s a fake.
    • The POP MART logo on the box is accurate. It should be bright red and clearly printed. If it’s blurry, misspelled, or the wrong color, it’s probably a sign of a counterfeit.
    • The top of the box has “The Monsters” logo. Fakes are sometimes missing this, or the top of the box may say something else.[1]
    • There isn’t any tape on the box. A brand-new Labubu box shouldn’t be taped. If yours is, it could be a sign that an authentic box has been repackaged with a fake Labubu inside. Check the top, sides, and bottom.
    • The box is glossy with a slight texture. Fake ones can either be too glossy or too dull.
  2. On a real Coca-Cola Labubu box, there will be a silver holographic QR sticker. On the bottom of the sticker is a scratch-off code. If you scan the QR code, it should take you to the POP MART verification site (it should start with fwsy.popmart). Type in the code from the scratch-off section, and you’ll see a message that says something like, “QR code scan result is genuine – First scan.” This tells you that the box is genuine and no one has scanned it before.[2]
    • If the code is blurry, takes you to a different site, or takes a long time to load, it could be a sign that the box is a fake.
    • Keep in mind that having a real box doesn’t guarantee the Labubu is real. Some people repackage fake Labubus inside authentic boxes.

  3. Some Labubus come inside a bag, but Coca-Cola Labubus come in a clear plastic insert that holds them in place. If your Coca-Cola Labubu is packaged inside a bag, it’s a pretty good sign that it’s not real.[3]
    • Similarly, if the Labubu is just inside the box without a tray or a bag, it’s probably a counterfeit.
  4. Real Coca-Cola Labubus come with an ID tag that matches the figure in the box. It will usually be loose inside the box, not inside the plastic packaging. The card will be white, with crisp printing. The name of the Labubu is printed on the back of the card.[4]
    • Fake cards sometimes look yellowish or have blurry or faded printing.
  5. The top of the Coca-Cola Labubu box will have a pull tab that you can use to open the box. It should pull smoothly, leaving an open strip across the top of the box.[5]
    • Fakes are sometimes missing the pull tab or are harder to open than real Labubu boxes.

Checking the Labubu Doll

  1. If your Coca-Cola Labubu is real, it should have neat, high-quality sculpting, with defined eyebrows and exactly 9 molded teeth. Its face should look just like Labubus from other series, so compare it to others in your collection or pictures of other Labubus online.
    • Fake Labubus often have weird facial proportions, poorly-defined eyebrows, or the wrong number of teeth.[6]
  2. A real Coca-Cola Labubu will have a neatly-painted face, with peachy-color skin and a red nose. It will have subtle blush on its cheeks and brown eyes with small white reflection dots and a brown center.
    • Fakes will often have messy paint, especially around the teeth and eyes. The blush will often be more obvious, or the paint might be chipped.[7]
    • Fake Coca-Cola Labubus sometimes have freckles, while the real ones do not.
    • Counterfeits may also have a yellowish hue to their face, hands, and feet.
  3. Coca Cola Labubus have the same proportions as other characters from The Monsters. Their bodies are slightly narrower than their heads, with short arms and legs. The ears should be right on top of the head, close together, and slightly angled inward.[8]
    • Fakes may have a body that’s too wide, the feet might be too far apart, and the ears may be spaced too far out or be angled away from each other.
  4. The fur on Coca-Cola Labubus is straight and soft. This is an especially furry series of Labubus, especially compared to series like Exciting Macaron, where the fur is a little shorter and curlier. The insides of the ears are a soft cream color, with a white shape close to the base of the head. The stitches should be subtle. [9]
    • Happy Factor and Surprise Shake (the two more common Coca-Cola Labubus) have white fur, and Mysterious Guest (the Secret) has brown fur.
    • Fake Coca-Cola Labubus sometimes have shaggier or messier hair, and the fur may feel lower-quality. The color inside the ears may be off, as well, and the stitches might feel loose or the seams might be more obvious.[10]
    • Some fake Coca-Cola Labubus will be an entirely different color.[11]
  5. Each of the Coca-Cola plushes features a can or bottle of Coke that should resemble the real thing. The cans have the same proportions as a real Coke can, with white lettering. The top and bottom are glossy silver with a pop tab.
    • The Coke bottle is slender like a glass bottle, with a red and white Coca-Cola label. The top of the bottle is translucent, like the headspace at the top of a bottle of Coke.
    • Fake Labubus may feature the wrong shape or color bottle or can, or it may have low-quality printing.
    • On Happy Factor and Surprise Shake figures, the can and bottle are attached to the plush by white rings. On fakes, these rings are sometimes different colors.
  6. Real Coca-Cola Labubus have a red keychain tag with the Coca-Cola logo on one side and the POP MART and The Monsters logos on the other side. The keychain ring is red and feels like a high-quality material.
    • Some fake Coca-Cola Labubus might have tags that only say Coca-Cola, or there might be misspelled words on the tag.[12] That said, a lot of fakes do have the correct branding on the keychain tag, so be sure not to entirely rely on the tag as proof that one is authentic.
    • Fake Labubus may have cheaper-feeling hardware on the keychain ring.
  7. A real Coca-Cola Labubu has a stamp on its foot that says POP MART ® Kasing. The printing is clear, and the typography of the POP MART logo matches the company’s branding.
    • Fakes may have a deeply indented logo, the logo may be shallow or blurry, or the foot stamp may have different words or images.
    • If your Coca-Cola Labubus was manufactured after 2024, it may have a stamp on its other foot that glows under UV light. However, Labubus manufactured before this do not have these stamps.[13]
  8. On a real Coca-Cola Labubu, the body tag will be clearly printed and will have the POP MART and The Monsters logos, as well as an additional QR code. Scan this QR code to verify the authenticity of the figure, just like you did for the QR code on the box.[14]
    • Fake Labubus are often missing this QR code.
    • These QR codes are notoriously hard to scan, even on verified authentic Labubus. However, if it takes you to a different website, it could be a sign of a fake.

Tips for Buying a Coca-Cola Labubu

PDF download Download Article
  1. If you want to be 100% sure you’re purchasing a real Labubu, try to buy from the POP MART site. This can be hard since Labubus often sell out within minutes of a restock, but if you can snag one there, you’ll know it’s real. POP MART’s Amazon page and daily live TikTok streams are also good places to get authentic Labubus.
    • Check the POP MART site each night after around 7 PM PST/10 PM EST—that’s usually when they restock.[15]
  2. If you’re buying from a third-party seller, check their seller rating—and be wary of anyone with a 100% satisfaction rating, since that could indicate they’ve filled their profile with fake reviews. Carefully inspect any pictures that they provide as part of the listing.
    • It’s a good idea to shop with sites like StockX and eBay. StockX guarantees that anything you buy through their site is authentic, and eBay offers an authenticity guarantee that allows you to dispute the charge if you can demonstrate you were sold a fake product that the seller asserted was real.[16]
    • Be especially wary of buying Coca-Cola Labubus off of third-party sites that don’t vet their sellers, like Facebook Marketplace or resell sites like Mercari or Poshmark. Also, be wary of third-party sellers on sites like Amazon or AliExpress.
    • Ask the seller for proof of purchase, like a receipt or online invoice, to prove they bought the Labubu from a verified source.
  3. In the U.S., Coca-Cola Labubus retail for $46.99 on the POP MART website. If you see one for sale for $20, for instance, there’s a good chance it’s a fake—someone would be taking more than a 50% loss to sell it at that price. [17]
    • Prices that are way too high can also be a sign of a scammer.

What are the three Coca-Cola Labubu plushes?

PDF download Download Article
  1. Happy Factor is a seated, white Labubu holding a can of Coca-Cola. Happy Factor has a red nose and keychain tag and wears a red scarf. The Coca-Cola logo on the can is white, and the top and bottom of the can are glossy silver. The can has the same proportions as a real can of Coke.[18]
    • Happy Factor’s eyes mischievously look off to the right.
  2. Surprise Shake is a standing white Labubu holding a bottle of Coca-Cola. The bottle is translucent at the very top, with the same proportions as a glass bottle of Coke. Surprise Shake wears a red Santa hat with white trim and a white pom pom at the end.
    • Surprise Shake has a red nose and keychain tag and looks straight forward.[19]
  3. Mysterious Guest is the Secret Labubu in the Coca-Cola series—there’s only a 1 in 72 chance that someone will get this one in a blind box. Mysterious Guest is a brown Labubu inside a can of Coca-Cola. The lid raises and lowers—when it’s all the way open, you can see Labubu’s face and arms, and when it’s all the way shut, you can only see her ears.[20]
    • The Coca-Cola logo on the can is white, and the top and bottom of the can are silver. The can has the same proportions as a regular Coke can.

Are the PVC figures ever counterfeited?

PDF download Download Article
  1. The PVC series of Coca-Cola Labubus isn’t usually sold out on the POP MART website. That means that—unlike the plushes—anyone who wants one can buy one at any time. They are sold in blind boxes, so you can’t be sure exactly which one you’re getting until after you buy it. But unless you’re chasing a specific figure, there’s not much incentive to take the risk of buying it from a third-party seller.[21]
    • That said, if you do try to buy a figure from a third-party seller, there’s a chance it could be a fake, especially if you’re trying to snag the coveted Secret—Labubu Express, a brown Labubu figure driving a red Coca-Cola truck.
